MacBook Pro external display purple/hazy after 20-30 min

Running a MacBook Pro 13" (2015) with iOS Monterey 12.7.6. Recently hooked up a Philips monitor model 271V8LB via HDMI. When first connected, display on monitor had normal colors. After being connected for 20-30 minutes, display changed to different shades of purple and had a hazy look. This has occurred with two different monitors. Have tried various different display settings without affecting color.

This MacBook model will not accept latest iOS updates.

Anyone else seen this problem? Could it be a compatibility issue?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

Did you try a better quality cable...(?)

ref: Recommended high quality cables: certified Ultra HDMI or Premium ≤ 1.0 m length

When in its purple haze state take a screen shot— screen shots come direct form the GPU— look at that imgae under better conditions or a different device to rule out a GPU failure...
