iPhone 16 not recognized by HP desktop

I cannot get my HP Elite desktop computer to consistently recognize my iPhone 16. It has recognized my phone in the past, but very inconsistently. When the "trust" prompt comes up, I choose "trust this computer". I have followed the suggested directions to reset the location & privacy on my phone, multiple times. I have tried to get iTunes to recognize my phone but it will not. I have installed Apple Devices on my HP desktop, but my phone is not recognized there either. I use a new Apple cord that I just purchased because I thought it would help, but it didn't. I've also tried different cords. I've tried different USB and USBC ports. I have restarted the computer and the iPhone multiple times. I have updated my iPhone. None of the suggested solutions have worked for me and I'm out of options. I'm hoping someone has found a solution that I have not tried yet. TIA

As mentioned in the link: It is also possible the device may show under Imaging Devices, Portable Devices, Other Devices, or as an MTB USB Device.

If its still not there, my suggestion is to remove the Devices app and iTunes entirely and install a fresh copy of iTunes from the Apple Website, instead of the Microsoft Store.

Are you aware that iTunes was retired in 2024 and replaced with Apple Devices on Windows computers? Have you downloaded Apple Devices and tried that instead of iTunes?

Not really retired. Still available and fully downloadable from both the Microsoft Store and Apple's Website.

Devices is just there if you have downloaded the other Apple Apps, like TV and Music which restrict any existing iTunes installation to only Books and Podcasts and makes it necessary to use Devices.

Outside of that iTunes should still work with current devices just fine.

I understand, but we keep seeing people using the older iTunes and having issues and when it's recommended they download Apple Devices, it seems to solve their issue. So I'm now recommending people move over to Apple Devices as opposed to struggling with iTunes. I can't confirm this personally, because I moved from Windows a few years ago over to MacBook Pro.
