iPad Pro 12.9 4th gen stuck in tutorial; iPhone 14 Pro Max Find My erase function fails

iPad is Stuck in an accommodation ‘tutorial’ (alternatives swipe/tap methods) using iPad Pro 12.9 4th.

This occurred twice using separate iPads of the same model over the past 12 months. IOS is up to date.

A hard reset does not shut down the Tutorial thus all function remain ineffective.

iPhone ‘Find My’ function does not erase the iPad. The iPhone 14 Pro Max iOS 25.5 is current.

The iPad WiFi is off line however Exfinity states that it should not affect either issue.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

A remote erase, using Find My, will only be successful if the iPad has an active network connection - as without a connection, the iPad cannot receive remote commands.

If your iPad is not operating as expected, or appears to be stuck, perform a forced-restart - as this will often clear an isolated software issue. When performed correctly, your iPad will restart:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button. Do not release the button until you see the Apple logo.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

If any problems persist after performing the restart, it may be necessary to reset your iPad settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If the problem still doesn’t clear, the next step is to reset the iPad to factory settings:
