Hi there,
Great question! Yes, it is absolutely possible to use a normal plain camera view in FaceTime on your iPad Pro without the UltraWide lens or Center Stage. Here's how to do it:
Option 1 - Turn off Center Stage during a FaceTime call:
1. Start or join a FaceTime call.
2. Tap the screen to show the controls.
3. In the tile showing your own video, tap the arrow or the effects button (the star icon).
4. Tap "Center Stage" to toggle it OFF. When it's off, the icon will appear grey/inactive.
Option 2 - Turn off Center Stage from Control Center:
1. Go to Settings → Control Center and add "Video Effects" if it's not already there.
2. During a FaceTime call, swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center.
3. Tap the "Video Effects" button and turn off Center Stage from there.
Option 3 - Switch to the rear camera:
- During a call, you can tap the camera flip icon to switch to the rear camera, which does not use UltraWide or Center Stage by default.
Additional tip: Center Stage uses the front Ultra Wide camera to keep you in frame as you move. Turning it off will lock the camera to a fixed, standard framing — which is exactly what you're looking for.
