iPad Pro battery replacements at an Apple Store typically take about 3–5 business days when you bring it in, though the exact time can vary depending on your specific model and current parts availability.

Here are a few things to know before you go:

1. Make an appointment first at apple.com/retail/genius-bar — walk-ins are accepted but appointments get priority.

2. Back up your iPad before going in. Use iCloud (Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup) or connect to a Mac/PC and back up via Finder.

3. The battery replacement is a paid service (not covered under standard warranty unless there's a manufacturing defect with less than 80% capacity). You can check the current pricing at apple.com/support/ipad/repair.

4. If your iPad is still under AppleCare+, battery service is free if the battery holds less than 80% of its original capacity.

5. Apple may also offer same-day service in some cases — it's worth asking when you make your appointment, as availability depends on your local store's schedule.

For a more precise timeline, you can contact your local Apple Store directly or check the repair status online at mysupport.apple.com after dropping it off.

Apple does not offer in-store repairs or battery replacement service for iPad.

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange a qualifying iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair/battery service.

As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here:

iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of repair is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee.
