Ipad constantly saying „Not charging“ no matter what cords I use.

My iPad Mini A17 has been constantly saying „Not Charging“ when I plug it in since the iOS 26.2 update. I am using the official Apple cable and block that came with my iPad. I have tried other cables and charging blocks and it’s still the same issue. I’ve tried restarting it. I have even restored it to factory default and restored it back from my backup. I can plug in my iPhone 16 to the same cables and are just fine. The ONLY way I can get my iPad to charge is to constantly unplug it and replug it back in over and over until it stops saying „Not charging“. This is a HUGE inconvenience, especially after paying $500 for you to break it in an update. I’m not the only person having this problem, it’s all over the internet! This is NOT a cable problem, this is a problem with the update!

While not doubting that you have an unresolved issue, the problem that you describe is by no means widespread.

Your iPad indicating that it is not charging generally suggests that the Power Adapter is inadequate to charge the iPad, has a fault, or is unsuitable. You may have tried some of the following already...

These support pages should help with troubleshooting battery and charging issues:

Charge and monitor the iPad battery - Apple Support

If your iPad won't charge – Apple Support

Troubleshooting generally requires substitution of the Power Adapter and cable for another known-good item. Most models of iPad require a Power Adapter rated at 12W (i.e., 2.4A @5V) or greater to reliably charge. 5W Power Adapters (1.0A @5V) intended for older models of iPhone are inadequate to charge an iPad; if the iPad charges at all, charging will be very slow. Many recent models of iPad are supplied with an Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter.

Some third-party USB-C power adapters (and portable PowerBanks) may not support USB PD (Power Delivery). Power Delivery mutually negotiates the charging voltage; the source, load and cable are all elements involved in the negotiation protocol. Unless the Power Adapter explicitly supports USB PD, it will almost certainly fail to charge the iPad; proprietary charging standards, such as QC (Quick Charge), are not supported.

If you continue to experience difficulties when using an appropriate Power Adapter of 12W or greater, you might be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support - and request a remote diagnostic test. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

Yes, but what is “many”? And how many have the same problem? There are 1.5 billion Apple devices in use, so “many” would have to be in the millions if it was a general problem. With 1.5 billion no matter what symptom you have there are certain to be others with the same symptom, if not the same problem.

I have sympathy for your problem and understand your frustration, but there is no general solution. Make a Genius Bar appointment and demonstrate it to an Apple technician. That way they can’t ignore it. Don’t let them do further remote diagnostics.

I do see many people complaining of this, google it, lol. I had seen many people saying they updated to the iOS 26.6 Beta and it fixes the issue, but I’v not seen anything for a Beta version. And yes, I am on the current iOS 26.5. As I said, it’s been doing this SINCE the 26.2 update, that doesn’t mean I haven’t updated it. I had Apple do a Peer to Peer and ran diagnostics on my device in April and they concluded there was nothing wrong with my device so they couldn’t offer me to have it serviced.

Ipad constantly saying „Not charging“ no matter what cords I use.
