Apple Process for Claiming found iPad?
Want to claim lost iPad after following legal processes.
I found an iPad Air 2022 (M1 chip) and am in the process of following the State's legal requirements for lost items that would, after a few months, allow me to claim the item from the local Police department if the owner doesn't show up to claim it themselves.
I did make a good faith effort already to find the owner, but they did (As they should) have it properly secured, so I turned it in to the local PD and, after 90 days (and some jumping through hoops) legally it will be mine, but it will still have all the aforementioned security set up on it.
After I jump through all the hoops, will the "Lost property" process documentation from the Local PD and the County Clerk/Sheriff's office be enough that Apple can help me unlock it/reset it, if I do get lucky enough to be able to get it back and keep it?
If so, does anyone know what that process looks like?
Thanks in advance!
