I recently "upgraded" from Sequoia to Tahoe. Sequoia allowed, at login, for me to require both Username and Password. Tahoe, however, apparently does not. I think this is absurd so I wonder if this is a fact or am I missing something?

that option is still available in Tahoe. but sometimes during an upgrade, settings can mysteriously change themselves.
go into System Settings > Lock Screen, and change "Login window shows" back to "Name and password".

Thank you for the information. It turned out that in Lock Screen 'Name and password' was already selected. I tried deselecting/restart then reselect/restart but no joy. I finally used Recovery mode to reinstall Tahoe. Now that feature works!

FileVault gets enabled by default, and the decrypt login screen always shows the user(s). But, I haven’t checked if Apple changed that behavior.
I doubt reinstalling would have turned it off, so it was more likely some glitch.
