How do I resolve App Store login and account details issue on Mac?

Having problems downloading/signing in to the appstore.


I have copiers of FCPX & Motion for example and sign in with the right details and I get this.


I've this with a few apps recently on both my main machines (MBP & MacMini)


I've tried to logout of both machines on the account and it still doesn't reset. What keeps happening is that when I try and log out and log back in it seems to default to my iPhone & iPad appstore details.

An app is forever tied to the Apple Account used to acquire it (paid or free). The Apple Account is encoded into the licensed copy that is downloaded. It is in the copy's DNA. That is the only Apple Account that can redownload or update the app..


The only workaround is to delete the app and use the Apple Account you prefer to download it. That means buying it again if it is a paid app.
