Find My not showing shared locations after iPhone upgrade

Hi there! I just upgraded my phone today from a 12 Pro Max to a 17 Pro Max. After transferring and setting everything up, Find My doesn’t show the location of anyone it used to show the locations of. They all search for the location for a bit, and say, “no location found. Off network,” despite them all being on network and confirming with me that they can see my location. They have all shared their location with me, and two have revoked and resent their location to troubleshoot, but it made no difference. No settings have been changed, the OS is 26.5.1 (although it looks like the 12 Pro Max is on 26.5). I’m now wondering if this is an OS issue, because it worked fine on the 12 Pro Max, and all settings transferred over to the 17 Pro Max. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Yes, as I said, I can see the locations on the 12, the phones are on the same Apple account, the cellular was moved over to the new phone, the Apple account is signed in, it’s signed into iMessage (that’s what I use to text the friends, who also all have iPhones), and I do not have FaceTime installed because of personal preference.

Then Find My is still tied to the 12 and not your new iPhone. At this point, I'd recomment reaching out to Apple Support for direct assistance. You can call Apple, if in the US at: 800-MY-APPLE

Why not give it a day or two...(?) and compare your results.

Follow the 3R's- if a restart does not solve your problem proceed

Have you shutdown & restarted the iPhone ie power off/on...

Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Reset or a Force Restart,

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Restore from backup, restore as new device.

Is the iPhone 12 still up and running, even if you moved your data over to the new phone? Once you move everything over, it would be best to wipe the old phone following these directions --> What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

I’ll definitely give it a day or two, but I’m not sure if that’ll help. So steps from start to now:

New phone arrived, transferred everything from the old phone to the new phone, issue appeared on new phone but not old phone, suddenly new phone had an update to 26.5.1, updated, restarted, same issue. There’s now an update to 26.5.2, updated that, restarted, the issue is changed. Now I can see their locations in their messages when it says, “so and so shared their location with you,” but when I tap their name to pull up the larger map, everyone says Off Network. So so far, I’ve transferred from the iCloud backup to set up the phone, restarted twice, and still same issue. But I can give it time as well and hope for the best. Thank you for your reply
