Phone won't recognize AirTag after battery replacement

My phone won't recognize my AirTag. I replaced the battery. It made the sound multiple times but it doesn't show up on my phone.

You may need to reset it after the battery replacement. See how to do that here --> How to reset your AirTag - Apple Support

Very few coin-cells, such as the CR2032 used with the Apple AirTag, are now supplied without a bitterant coating. The bitterant coating, intended to discourage a child (or others) from swallowing a battery, can interfere with the AirTag's battery contacts.

The only reliable indication that this coating is not present is a printed description on the battery packaging that says so.

CR2032 batteries that are expressly marked as AirTag compatible often have a bitterant coating - but this coating has not been applied where the battery contacts of the AirTag touch the battery.
