Fitness app is no longer tracking my daily steps data

I have an IPhone 15pro with the latest system update available. The Fitness app used to work but for some reason no longer tracks my steps and movement. I did find some AI generated solutions to try- making sure privacy and security settings are correct for tracking health data and toggling switches off/on, restarting the phone. Nothing I have done resolves it. Also I can see the exact day it stopped working, about week and half ago. Help please?

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 26

Hello Mlerb64, welcome to the Apple Support Community!

It is a fairly precise indexing bug that sometimes happens when the iPhone's motion sensor (the coprocessor) is desynchronized from the Health application. Since you have already checked the privacy buttons, here is the manipulation that usually unlocks the situation: go to iPhone Settings, tap your name at the top, then iCloud. Tap See All, search for the Health app and disable it temporarily (choose "Keep on my iPhone" if requested). Then restart your phone, then return to the same place to reactivate Health in iCloud. This will force the system to reconnect the physical sensors to your step history and restart tracking immediately. Tell us again :)
