Cannot join Photos Shared Albums

My Apple Id can create shared albums in photos but cannot accept any Shared Album invitations. Every invitation from any sender fails with "Cannot Join" on all my Apple devices. I've tested multiple devices, multiple invitations, and brand-new albums. I've chatted with Apple support as well as non-Apple AI. I've restarted, updated, toggled iCloud and shared albums off/on, and done everything I've been told, but it's still not working. Any experience with this? I have about 200 shared albums that work fine...this just started a few months ago.

The problem comes from a technical iCloud limit, your account has saturated the maximum number of invitations or shares allowed. To unblock the situation, leave or delete some old shared albums that have become useless to free up space on the servers. If the bug persists despite this cleaning, contact Apple support: Contact - Official Apple Support, so that a technician can manually reset the counters of your ID. Have a nice day :)

The list is very long. Shared albums are limited, because they are using free iCloud storage.

You mentioned you are using 200 shared albums, so you have definitely reached the limit.

Maximum shared albums an owner can share: 200
Maximum shared albums a user can subscribe to: 200

There are also hourly and daily limits for the number of uploads and downloads.

I would not invest too much work into the shared albums right now. Apple announced that the shared albums will be improved with the next system version Golden Gate. I recommend to wait until we know what will happen in autumn, when the new system will be released - if there will be new limits, for example.
