Cannot connect Music Library from Mac to BluOS Controller

Hi,

Has anyone had a problem connecting their Music Library with the BluOS Controller?

I have followed the guidance from BluOS and they have even worked through my computer but non way to connect the library to the BluOS app to stream my music library.

I have tried both my Mac Studio and MacBook Pro both on Tahoe 26.5.1

Yes, connecting a local macOS music library to BluOS can fail due to strict local network privacy settings or SMB sharing configurations on newer macOS versions.

Try this

Check Local Network Permissions: Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Networkon your Mac and ensure the BluOS Controller has permission to access devices on your local network
Verify File Sharing Settings: Go to System Settings > General > Sharing and make sure File Sharingis turned on. Click the info button (i) next to it to verify that your Music folder is listed and your user account has Read & Write privileges.
Use Local Shares Wizard Properly: In the BluOS Controller app, navigate to Settings > Music library > Local Shares, click the + icon, select your exact music folder, click Authenticate, and enter your Mac's login username and password when prompted.
Bypass Mac Name with IP Address: If the hostname resolution fails, try adding the share manually via network path using your Mac's local IP address instead of its computer name (e.g., //192.168.X.X/Music).
