Face ID and stolen devices protection issues

The Face ID of my iPhone XR, iOS 18 has an issue “a problem with the TrueDepth camera”. But the stolen devices protection is turned on, so now a particular app can’t be unlocked without Face ID and there’s no option for passcode. What do I do?

Hello niyod999, welcome to the Apple Support Community!

Since the TrueDepth camera is out of order, the theft protection blocks everything because it requires Face ID. To get around this, go home or to a familiar place known to your iPhone, this will remove the security lock and allow you to go to Settings > Face ID and code to disable the option Protection of stolen devices. You can then use your secret code to open your application. For the broken sensor, the iPhone will have to be repaired at the Apple Store :Apple Repair and Repair Status Check - Official Apple Support. Have a nice day :)
