App Store downloads get stuck after clicking Install

Hello, I cannot download any app from App Store. I checked the address and remove/put back the bank card. Nothing helps. After clicking on Get button, then green Install button, the small window appears with the name of the needed app and that's all. It can stand forever.

Even though you’ve already removed and re-added your card, the App Store might be stuck on a failed background verification.

  • Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Payment & Shipping.
  • If it allows you to, select "None" as your payment method (you can only do this if you don’t have active subscriptions like iCloud+ or Apple Music).
  • Try downloading a free app. If it works, the issue is 100% related to your card or your bank blocking Apple's temporary authorization hold.

Welcome and thank you for reaching out. 🤗

The ability to complete an app purchase on the App Store requires a functioning payment method.

A payment method is often required to verify your identity, prevent fraud and ensure a streamlined process if you decide to make in-app purchases or purchase paid apps later.

It also helps companies manage age restrictions and regional content availability.

Check your payment method in Settings ➢ [your name] ➢ Payment & Shipping, ensure it’s valid and update if needed. Also, sign out and back into your Apple Account, then try again.

If it still fails, contact Apple Support directly.

Good Luck! 👋🏼😉
