Factory reset HomePods stuck in configuring
I have a pair of OG HomePods. They are normally a stereo pair and provide the audio for my Apple TV 3rd Gen 4K. audioOS 26.5 is installed.
My internet service was down for the better part of a day. When service was restored, the HomePods reported that they couldn't connect to the internet. All my other devices connected to my home wifi network.
After a few hours of them not connecting, I unplugged them for 30 seconds and plugged them back in. After restarting, they remained the same. I then decided to factory reset them.
The factory reset went well, but they had been configuring for 12+ hours! I did another factory reset, which also worked well, but they have been configuring again for 12+ hours. They are connected to the local network and the internet. Individually, they will respond to requests such as to play Ambient Sounds or to tell me a joke. But because in the Home app they appear as configuring, they cannot be united again as a stereo pair, nor will they respond to requests regarding my smart home, such as enabling a scene.
I'm at a loss as to what is going on.
