How can I download all iMessages from a specific contact into a PDF file? Is it possible to download ones that aren't on my iPhone, via cloud?

Hello kal_girl, and welcome to the Apple Support Community.
Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t provide a built-in way to export an entire Messages conversation to a PDF, nor is there a way to download messages directly from Messages in iCloud through iCloud.com.
If Messages in iCloud is enabled, your complete conversation history should automatically sync to another Apple device signed in with the same Apple Account. From there, you can print or save the conversation as a PDF, but Apple doesn’t offer a one-click export feature.

Also, are you looking to export it for personal reference, or for legal or record-keeping purposes?

The first thing I thought of was to go here:
where you can order a copy of your data stored at Apple. I was surprised that Messages wasn't one of the options! However, there is a mysterious "other data" choice that might do it. I got an email with this:
We are preparing your data for download.
It usually take a few days…
I'm trying to get them from my Mac, and it's for a book I'm writing. Personal use only. I have attempted to scroll back to the beginning of the messages so that I can print, but there are simply too many to load.
