New Apple Watch Ultra ECG saved my life

My new apple watch ultra 3.ecg saved my life,I had respiratory failure 5y ago, happened out the blue and I considered myself fit,not extreme but fit enough, about 2 week ago I developed chest pain quite frequently and 7days ago I ordered a apple.cause it had a medically certification ecg monitor,I left the ecg threshold at default to alert a heart rate drop below 50bpm,within 3 days i had 127 heart rate alerts warnings on my watch with it dropping as low as 35bmp when I was sleeping so I phone NHS doctors line and explain about my chest pain, feeling dizzy, she asked me to take a screen shot of the heath app ecg 127 warning, she then immediately sends a ambulance and I get took to the a&e for a ecg/bloods/xrays,when I showed the doctor the 127 ecg warnings on my iphone he kinda dismissed it saying to not really take a apple watch ecg 100% seriously when I asked why he said cause they ever want to sued,I asked him if it could be bradycardia,he said nae I don't think so but we will do a ecg,it turned out there ecg picked up sinus bradycardia with a high qtc of 480,they told me I was lucky I came when I did as I might have stopped breathing and went into respiratory failure which if isn't treated quickly will lead to cardiac arrest, these watches do work and it probably saved my life

Hello Hash70, and welcome to the Apple Support Community.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m very glad you sought immediate medical attention and that you’re now receiving the care you needed.

Your story is also a good reminder that Apple Watch health features are designed to detect potential signs of certain heart conditions and notify you when medical evaluation may be appropriate, but they do not replace a physician or provide a medical diagnosis.

When ECG results or heart rate notifications are accompanied by symptoms such as chest pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath, seeking prompt medical attention—as you did—is the right course of action.

And one more thing…

Never forget to think different.

Thx,and I agree,a apple.watch won't replace a doctor or give medical diagnosis but what it can and it certainly did for me was give 127 indication warnings that something is wrong and what I can definitely say is if it hadn't been for the apple watch ecg I wouldn't have phoned emergency services out of the possibility of feeling stupid going to hospital and they tell you ur fine and it's jst ur imagination, the apple health app allowed me to record all the ecg data warnings for the doctor to read,i think it's fantastic this type of technology and data collection even exist on smart watches
