Hello Dallasmoose, and welcome to the Apple Support Community.

If the distortion occurs with all videos, the issue could be related to the iPad speaker, the audio output, or the software.

A few things to check:

  1. Test the sound using a different app (such as Music or Safari) to see if the distortion is present everywhere or only with videos.
  2. Restart your iPad and make sure it is running the latest version of iPadOS available for your device.
  3. If you’re using Bluetooth headphones or speakers, disconnect them and test the built-in speakers instead.
  4. Check whether the distortion is present when using wired or Bluetooth headphones. If the sound is normal through headphones but distorted through the iPad speakers, it may indicate a hardware issue with the speakers.

Could you also let us know whether the problem affects all videos, including those recorded with the iPad itself, or only videos from a specific app or website?

Given your description and troubleshooting to date, you would be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to hands-on test and assess your iPad. If a fault is identified, you'll be in the best possible place to explore your available options:
