No data is stored in a SIM card. If the game will allow it to continue on another device depends on where the Developer chooses to store the game data. They have several options, but you would have to refer to support from that developer.
- They can store data in iCloud so it would be preserved on any device that uses the same Apple Account.
- They can store data on their own servers so the data would be accessible on any device after you log into the game with an account that was previously set up with them.
- They can store the data only on a single device. If data could be transferred to a new phone would be dependent on the Developer. It may be possible to restore from that devices backup or set up the new phone using Quick Start to transfer all data from the old phone.
As far as crashing, that may be due to a recent update by the Game Developer and could happen on any phone. The developer would have to issue another update to fix the bug causing the crash. They did just have an update 2 days ago, so maybe that is when your daughter started seeing the game crash and that would be due to a bug that was introduced, not specifically a problem with the phone. The previous update before that one was a week ago, so not sure what version you have installed. If you don't have the latest one, then see if you can update the app.
