Restore text box selection arrows (iPad)

Recently (as in yesterday, 7/3/2026) got new iPads at work with the Liquid Glass update, not sure of the exact model but they feel fresh out of the box. Got every setting back to how we normally use it, but the keyboard remains a point of contention (my coworkers are all older and liked the iOS 18 keyboard); we can deal with the new lefthand row of action keys-though it would be nice to get rid of them and have wider keys back, but how do we bring these up/down text box selection arrows back? They were vital to some programs we use, thanks. Related pic:

I’m still seeing those arrows in Safari on my iPad for both the standard QWERTY and QWERTY - ISO keyboards. (You seem to be using the latter.) I’m using iPadOS 26.5.2.

I remember that earlier versions of iPadOS 26 had keyboard issues, at least in my end. Try to update to iPadOS 26.5.2 to see if it helps.

Try Settings > General > Keyboards > Predictive Text >On.

My question is how did you get rid of the numbers? I had that keyboard on my iPad Pro 2 and it was by far my favorite keyboard. Thank you.

The on-screen keyboard presentation differs between iPad models and their relative screen sizes.

Your issue is unclear.

The soft-keys to which you seemingly refer remain present on my own iPads running iPadOS 26.5.2.

Thank you LotusPilot. No sooner did I post it then I realized it may not be a Pro. I was hoping though, I miss that big simple keyboard on a iPad Pro.
