Vintage PowerBook display & PRAM issues post-HDD replacement

So I managed to connect my PB180 to the 7600 via the special target disk mode HDI30 cable. Worked like a charm and simply copied the contents of the PB180 hard drive which has OS 7.5.3 to another one in the 7600.

The other drive in the 7600 is one partition and has OS 7.5.5 running on it. Is this safe? Should I “unbless” the 7.5.3 system folder?

I know best practice is to partition the drive but it would take a long time to copy everything back to it.

Hi all is well with the Powerbook except for one oddity just discovered…

On the keyboard, all action and number keys work fine. All letters don’t work at all!

This keyboard is original and very clean and hasn’t had anything spilled on it.

What could be the issue?

Can’t zap the pram because the p and r keys don’t work

Yes I tried that along with every conceivable pin setting. I still only get the desktop pattern without icons.

I do have the mouse cursor showing.

Interesting and sounds doable. I only have the Powermac 7600 running 7.5.5

Where do I find the NAD download?

Jan, I can’t get to the PB hard drive to copy the necessary monitor control panel.

Would it be possible to ftp all files that you used to create the network floppy? I would be most grateful.

Yes the Powermac 7600 is connected to the internet.

I will try to get those files downloaded and on a floppy.
