Update your iPhone
Make sure your iPhone 13 is updated to the latest version of iOS. The new AirPods 4 strictly require the latest software to handshake properly with the Find My network.
Disconnect and Re-pair (Full Reset)
If updating doesn't work, clear the ghost connection by following these exact steps:
- Remove from Find My: open the Find My app, select your AirPods, and tap Remove This Device (as seen at the bottom of your image).
- Forget Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the (i) next to your AirPods, and select Forget This Device.
- Hard Reset AirPods 4:
- • Put both AirPods in the case and keep the lid open.
- • Double-tap the front of the case (near the status LED) or hold the front touch-sensitive area until the LED flashes amber, then white.
- Restart your iPhone.
- Re-pair: Bring the open case close to your iPhone and follow the on-screen setup animation.
