  1. Unplug your Ethernet cable/USB-C adapter and turn off Wi-Fi from the menu bar.
  2. Click the Finder icon on your Dock.
  3. In the top menu bar, click Go, then select Go to Folder... (or press Cmd + Shift + G on your keyboard).
  4. Copy and paste the following path exactly into the box and hit Enter:
  5. /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/
  6. Find and delete only the following files (the system will ask for your Mac admin password to confirm):

• com.apple.airport.preferences.plist (Manages Wi-Fi settings)

• com.apple.network.eapolclient.configuration.plist (Manages Ethernet authentication)

• NetworkInterfaces.plist (This is the critical one: it maps your hardware ports)

• preferences.plist (Manages overall network setups)

7 Empty your Trash, then immediately restart your Mac.

Upon rebooting, macOS will notice these core configuration files are missing and automatically generate brand-new, clean versions. Turn your Wi-Fi back on or plug in your Ethernet adapter, and it should connect instantly.

Welcome and thank you for reaching out. 🤗

If you have any antivirus software installed, then remove it A.S.A.P. as they interfere with the system operations and performance.

If you don’t have anything like that installed, then try the following:

First, let’s see if this issue happens in Safe Mode:

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Press and hold the power button on your Mac. As you continue to hold the power button, your Mac turns on and loads startup options. When you see Options, release the power button.
  3. Select your startup disk. It's named Macintosh HD, unless you changed its name.
  4. Press and hold the Shift key, then click the “Continue in Safe Mode” button below your startup disk.
  5. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

If the strange behaviors do not occur, then it may possibly be a software issue.

If the issue doesn't continue in safe mode:

Leave safe mode by restarting your Mac normally, then try to reproduce the issue.

If the issue doesn't return, it might have been resolved by the other things that safe mode did at startup, such as checking your disk and clearing caches.

If the problem persists, then let’s try this:

Hi,

When a new Mac Neo fails to connect to both Wi-Fi and Ethernet, prioritize power-cycling your router, checking for secure physical connections, and verifying that your VPN or firewall isn't blocking access. If both networks remain down, perform a full restart of your Mac to refresh its networking hardware.
