Your iPhone 15 should work fine in the U.S.—the main question is what your current provider charges for U.S. roaming.

I would check your providers roaming options first. If the price is reasonable, using your existing plan may be the simplest option.

If roaming is expensive, and your iPhone is unlocked, you could add a U.S. or travel eSIM and use that line for cellular data while keeping your regular number active for calls and messages. You can check whether the phone is unlocked under Settings > General > About > Carrier Lock. If it says “No SIM Restrictions”, you should be able to use another carrier’s eSIM.

You could get a portable Wi-Fi hotspot, but I probably wouldn’t bother—unless you are traveling with several people, or need to connect multiple devices. For one iPhone, an eSIM is usually much simpler.

If you mention which country and provider you currently use, someone may be able to give more specific advice about the cheapest option.
