Not able to play purchased album

I just bought an album from iTunes yesterday on my iPhone. It still didn't show up in the music app on my iMac today, even though it's the same account. I sent it to my iMac from the iPhone and can't play it. My iMac music app tells me I have to subscribe to Apple Music. Is this a new feature? If so, what a scam!

Seems you may need to be signed in to the Music Account on your Mac:

Sign in to your Apple Account in Music on Mac - Apple Support

Eg: says:

Go to the Music app on your Mac.
Click Sign In at the bottom-left corner of the Music window.
If you forgot your Apple Account password, click “Forgot password?” and follow the on-screen instructions.
