HomePod mini restart and OS update not working
restart (HomePod mini) doesn't seem to work (os update seems to stall out too)

Force close the Home app and reopen it.
Restart the HomePod by unplugging the power cable, waiting 10 seconds, and plugging it back in.
Then try again
Do you have a Mac or PC to use?
you can plug the USB-C cable of the HomePod mini directly into a computer and restore/update it, see instructions here —> Reset HomePod or HomePod mini - Apple Support
