Should I repair or replace my iPad Pro with a broken screen?

My iPad Pro (2nd gen) 11 inch just fell and the screen is broken (multiple breaks, some splinters, screen still completely functional). Is it worth it to repair, or better to replace? I would be thinking about stepping down from pro, so maybe not replacing with full pro price. Thanks!

iPad Pro, iPadOS 26

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange a qualifying iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair. Unless you have benefit of an active AppleCare plan, an out-of-warranty repair while expensive will be somewhat less than the cost of a replacement iPad.

Given that you have an older model, whether or not repair/replacement would be an economically viable option - or replacing the broken iPad with another model - only you can determine.

As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here:

If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of repair is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee.

Perhaps a refurbished newer model from online Apple store might do better?

Given the latest the specs in the text that your inquiry suggests, that one may

be harder to get that Repaired. Too old? An Apple Authorized Service/Sales may

have an option. Or offer an OK price, maybe dispose of yours if beyond repair.

Find authorized repair and service locations.

While those who participate here in the ASC discussion threads often are fellow

Apple product users; but 'apple employees' rarely do make an appearance here.

So if expecting some official reply, that would require you to visit an actual Store

~ and ask to have a Genius assess that iPad's status; & offer suggestions there.
