Apple Watch S3 wrist recognition fails, sensors work

Hello,

I dont want to put a passcode on my apple watch series 3 but i have to if i want to pay with my watch. i hate putting in the code everytime i use it so i turned on Wrist recognition, but it does not work. i Do not have any tattoos that could be blocking it, and i already tried wearing it as tight as i can. When i looked, the sensors werent even lighting up to see if i have it on. but they work when i check my heartbeat. those 2 on the left and right are lighting up green. but it doesnt when i want to unlock it. i already tried resetting it, turning the option on and off and basically everything gemini told me to do. its like the sensors dont turn on. bUT THEY WORK!... its on watch os 8.8.2. could it be because i didnt want to share the data with apple when configuring it?
