New iPhone Messages not syncing from iCloud past 2022

Issue: My assumption when signing into my new phone using iCloud was that everything from my messages, photos, notes, and all that gets synced in the iCloud would show up. However, when I was setting it up it prompted me to restore the backup I had from '22, and later after everything had loaded I noticed that my messages app was stuck in '22. None of my current messages showed up. I am confused because I know my messages are synced on iCloud. On my Macbook and iPad, all the messages that I had on my phone show up as they were. Any messages I had sent from my iPad reflected in my messages on my laptop and so forth. What can I do to get my messages back on my iPhone??

You can enable this Set up iCloud for Messages on all your devices - Apple Support on your new phone and see if it downloads.

If it doesn't then you can erase the phone What to do before you sell, give away, trade in, or recycle your Mac - Apple Support set up the phone as new and sign into your icloud account and enable whatever you sync to the cloud.
