There are times when you may come across a PDF that has corruption. In these cases, the first thing to try would be to either reproduce the PDF if you have the original source application and document, or, download a new copy from the source.

If that is not possible or does not change the outcome, then you can try to "flatten" the PDF, removing some features that can be problematic.

To flatten a PDF in macOS:

  1. Right-click the PDF file in Finder and choose "Open With" > "Preview.app"
  2. From the "File" menu, choose "Print..."
  3. At the bottom of the print dialog, click the "PDF" drop-down button, then choose "Save as PDF"
  4. You will be prompted to choose a path and filename for your new flattened PDF version, then click "Save"

Then try opening in Acrobat and see if the document behaves normally for printing from that application.

First have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

Next have you tried to Reset the Mac printing system to solve a problem - Apple Support?

Secondly boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists.  If it does it means that there are 3rd party software that's interfering with the print from Acrobat process. Reboot normally and test again.

Note:  if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode.  This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will assure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

In Adobe Acrobat, with that PDF open, select Properties from the File menu and on that Properties panel, choose the Security tab. Under document restrictions, is Printing allowed? Does using the Adobe Print tool from the toolbar also fail to print?

There may for some unknown reason, Acrobat JavaScript (AcroJS) coding within that PDF that is blocking your ability to print that does not appear in document restrictions. Apple's Preview ignores AcroJS and would print the PDF provided that it is undamaged and also unrestricted for printing.

Well, tell us what happens when you try to print? Do you get some kind of error message? Does it just stall out? What? If you are able to print files from other apps then that points directly at Adobe and not macOS. Try visiting Adobe Acrobat community support forums with your problem.

As an experiment try opening the Acrobat file in the macOS Preview app, assuming it’s a PDF. Can you print from there? If yes, then it points to Acrobat once again.

Also make absolutely sure you are using the very latest version of Acrobat.

Well it’s now perfectly clear that macOS 26.5.2 Tahoe is not involved in this issue. Your way forward is to contact Adobe’s customer support team, and visit Adobe’s Acrobat user community forums. Are you using an older version of Acrobat or the current subscription version which should be fully compatible with macOS and have the latest Acrobat bug fixes?
