Pages to PDF shortcut prompts repeatedly on macOS 26

Hello!

I'm using the shortcut/quickaction "Export Pages to PDF" by the wonderful VikingOSX. I got it here: How can I convert multiple pages file to … - Apple Community

Unfortunately since MacOS26 I get the following prompt every time I want to convert a pages-document:

No matter what I allow or disallow this prompt always pops up. This only happens since MacOS26.

How do I solve this? I use this shortcut a hundred times a day (I'm a teacher and need to convert to pdf-files constantly)

Thanks! :)

Yeah, I got that dialog too. Thank you Apple. Something either in Pages v15.3 or that Export action has changed with regard to enhancements in operating system security. Not fixable in System Settings > Privacy & Security panel. At least not here with Tahoe 26.5.2.

To resolve this, I opened the Shortcuts application, searched for Export Pages and then double-clicked the Export Pages to PDF Shortcut to open it.

Next, I clicked on the i⃝ toolbar item and selected the Privacy tab. I clicked Reset Privacy, and that wiped that panel and Allow Running When Locked was selected. Now, click the ☐̅ toolbar item. Check to see if the Export Repeat Item … to PDF remains in the Repeat loop intact, or as a now undefined action. Mine showed the latter.

I eliminated the {Nicht erlauben, Einmal erlauben, Immer erlauben} (e.g. {Never allow, Allow once, Always allow} dialog by removing and replacing that Pages Export Document in Background action with the original context:

Now the Quick Action quietly exports the Pages document to PDF in the same filesystem location.

On macOS 26.6.2, I still get that permission challenge when I run this Export Pages to PDF Shortcut.

After launching the Shortcuts application, I double-clicked on this Shortcut to edit it. I changed the previous:

to:

by right-clicking on that original blue Source Password and changing it to Current App. This works with multiple selected Pages documents. This does not imply Pages must be running when you use this Shortcut.

I just ran this Export Pages to PDF Shortcut on a Pages document located on iCloud Drive. The first time I ran it from that remote filesystem, I got the permissions dialog again — which I clicked Always Allow. The next time I ran this Shortcut on a Pages document from iCloud Drive, it worked silently without the permissions dialog.

Have you updated to macOS 26.6.2 yet? That is my testing base until 26.7 is finally released.

Hello VikingOSX,

first of all, sorry that I didn't answer for so long. Life got in the way for a bit.

I don't understand your last paragraph unfortunately:

I updated MacOS and Pages and reset privacy in the "i"-tab. It does not work unfortunately :(
