You cannot. For the iPhone 8, which originally ran iOS 11, iOS 16 is the end of the line.
It should have been a clue when your iPhone 8 did not receive iOS 17 or 18 that it would not receive iOS 26, either.

That's right. Your iPhone is not capable of running iOS 26. You likely knew that when it also couldn't run iOS 17 or iOS 18. Time to buy a new iPhone.

You may want iOS 26 on you iPhone 8, but you won’t get it.

It is not possible to get iOS 26 on iPhone 8 because iOS 16 was the end update, ending life update support by Apple for ur iPhone. Upgrade ur iPhone to get the latest features, even though now, iOS 27.0.1 is the latest.

You do not need the feature. If you want it, and your current phone is too old to support it, your options are to purchase a new phone (at your own expense), or to do without.
Unfortunately not possible. The latest update is iOS 16.7.16.
