iPhone text notifications from speaker with Bluetooth?

Is there an option in iPhone to get text notifications to

play from the phone speaker when the phone is connected to a Bluetooth device?

If my earbuds are on I only hear the notification sound in the earbuds. The

phone itself doesn't make a sound. How do I change this? I want the

notification sound to ALWAYS play from the phone regardless of if I'm connected

to a Bluetooth device or not.

Here is the exact scenario that prompted this. When I am

on call, I will get text notifications when a ticket comes in. These

notifications are set up to play even if the phone is in Do Not Disturb mode.

Apparently, when I got home from work, and put away my earbuds, the right

earbud did not make contact with the charging port in the case, and therefore

never disengaged from the phone. When a ticket came in overnight the

notification played through the earbud in my laptop bag, not the phone on my

nightstand. The ticket will page every 5 minutes until someone responds. If no

one responds after 5 pages it goes to the manager. After 10 pages it goes to

the director. My manager is on vacation this week, so the ticket one unanswered

for 10 pages until my director got it. At that point in time my director called

me. The phone itself still rings for incoming calls if it's connected to a

Bluetooth, so that call woke me up. It is absolutely idiotic that the text

notifications only play through Bluetooth when connected. My personal phone,

which is an Android, plays notifications from the phone itself and over Bluetooth

simultaneously, which is logical.

Someone please tell me if there is a fix to this. I've

come across other people complaining about this exact same issue going back 10

years. So, I doubt Apple has done anything to actually fix this, but I am

hopeful.

If a second answer will help, NO, if the phone is connected to a Bluetooth speaker all sounds will be played through the speaker. There is no way to split sounds between the phone and speaker it is connected to. In your use case, since these notifications are important to you, you'll need to make sure your earbuds are disconnected from your phone when you put them in their charge case.

You are suggesting directing only certain sounds between your earbuds and phone, which is splitting. That is not supported. I understood what you want. It's just not possible to have what you want. I'm not even sure it would be useful. Let's say you could direct notifications to only play on your phone. If you were listening to music loudly with your earbuds in, you most likely wouldn't hear the notification on your phone if you're listening to music.

Regardless, what you're looking for isn't supported. You can provide feedback to Apple using the link KiltedTim provided.
