Wired earphones not working with iPhone 16 Pro

Wired earphones not working when connected to my iphone 16 pro.

Latest software on phone. Battery is full, no debris in charge port, new iphone adaptor, settings reviewed to accommodate headphones/ earphones.

I have tried the earphones on different devices and they work. I have tried two new adaptors none of them the phone is picking up.

please assist

Are these "adapters" made by Apple or a third-party? What is the make & model of these wired earphones? Other than trying them with different devices (what would they be), what other troubleshooting steps did you take to try getting this resolved?
