apple charged me early, won't refund me

Apple charged me early for a subscription I was trying to cancel and denied my refund. How are they able to charge early and if they won't help me should I just dispute the charge with my bank?

Hi Trll99!

Apple typically processes subscription renewals up to 24 hours before the actual cancellation date to prevent service gaps. This is why things typically go awry if you try to cancel on the final day.

Before disputing the charge with your bank, you should call Apple support directly (1-800-MY-APPLE). I recommend that you ask the representative to escalate the case to a billing senior adviser to manually review the early charge timestamp.

Welcome and thank you for reaching out. 🤗

You’re likely still being charged because the subscription wasn’t fully canceled before the next billing cycle.

To resolve this, go to Settings, [your name], select Subscriptions and confirm that your subscription is canceled.

Unfortunately, if Apple had denied your refund request, then you’ve reached the final stage.

Apple’s decision is final and no one can change their decision or alter the Refund policy.

According to Apple: All Transactions are final. Content prices may change at any time. If technical problems prevent or unreasonably delay delivery of Content, your exclusive and sole remedy is either replacement of the Content or refund of the price paid, as determined by Apple. From time to time, Apple may suspend or cancel payment or refuse a refund request if we find evidence of fraud, abuse, or unlawful or other manipulative behavior that entitles Apple to a corresponding counterclaim.

Good Luck! 👋🏼😉

I cannot imagine what advice you’re hoping to receive here.

Undoubtedly, Apple provided plenty of explanatory material to you through this process. We cannot guess what that stated.

You also haven’t told us any timeline other than “charged me early”. The date you will be charged for a subscription is well documented, and cancellation typically requires 24 hour notice.
