Your Apple Account/Apple ID password (that also works for iCloud) is not the same as the login passcode you create when you first set up the computer. In the current macOS versions, the passCODE is used to log into the computer, not your Apple Account/Apple ID password.

My passcodes are simpler than my Apple Account/Apple ID password because I have to enter them more often. If your MacBook Neo is the version with TouchID, the passCODE you created for that computer has the same functions as TouchID.

You Apple Account/Apple ID identifies you, not individual devices. Best practice for average users is to have ONE Apple Account/Apple ID. It allows you to have all your Apple gear inter-connected. Like the Force, Apple Account/Apple ID binds your Apple-verse together. 🪐😉
