After nearly a fortnight of using FCP 12.3 I have only this morning realised that the default to auto-render has been switched off!
For me this is very welcome as I never liked it and frequently found myself forgetting to turn it off.
I always wondered why the default setting was "ON" but I suppose it's because Apple thinks it knows what we want better than we do.

I've had to delete my preferences lately, and noticed that it stayed turned off. I was wondering, that looked odd, it should have reset to on. But I think they finally got it right, after now many years? Yes, they decide what we need, not listen to what we need. Unless you're a YT influence, then they cater to you exclusively.
I never use background render.
The amount of time I spend on draw masks, blend mode changes, every single J-Cut / L-Cut, etc. would drive me crazy.
I have no time for the new A.I. masks and such. I actually enjoy the art of key frames, anchors and all the various tweaks.
