What is the Battery Health on the 14 Pro? Settings > Battery > Battery Health. If it is 80% or lower, the battery is failing and failing batteries can cause all sorts of issues.
If that's not it, it would be advisable to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar to have the phone tested for a hardware issue --> Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple
That could mean that your power source is intermittent. Have you tried a different power source?
Your battery is failing, as I suspected. You need to either pay Apple to replace the battery now or upgrade to a new iPhone. When batteries go below 80%, things can go wrong or worse, such as the battery swelling, which can destroy the phone. This is not a when you get around to it thing.
Update, the problem went away after the next iPhone update.
my personal opinion: saying a battery needs replacing when it says “80%” makes the “80% capacity” meaningless. If a battery needs replacing at 80% capacity then it really is 0%. Either Apple needs to change their reporting of battery capacity, if there is a real danger of a battery swelling or exploding, or …..
Thanks for you help on this. I appreciate it.
There has been a development and I’m not sure how to take it.
Just to be clear, here is the sequence of events that took place:
I have no idea what changed. I didn’t do anything but swap phones a couple of times.
I really hate problems like this as there is no cause determined. It’s like trying to solve an intermittent problem with a new design that only happens randomly.
anyway, thanks for your help again, my battery is actually just below 80% so it may be time to either have the battery replaced or buy a new phone. My work iPhone11 still has 91% battery health!
I guess chalk this one up to unsolved since I can no longer reproduce the problem. 🤷♂️

A new battery for an iPhone 14 Pro will cost $99. And you really can't afford to not pay to have the battery replaced. If the battery swells and destroys the phone, it's going to cost a LOT more than $99.

Why are you telling other users what you think Apple should do? That won't accomplish anything.
Why don't you tell Apple?

It’s brand new (about two months old) and worked perfectly before the update.
Could you please answer the question? It's either a "Yes" or a "No"
I had a new power supply start acting up after only a week.
Yes
Let’s see if they delete this comment like the others I made.
