One number; right to voice message. When I call only one other iPhone, it goes right to voicemail, but not when anyone else calls that number. That number can call my iPhone, and others, just fine. I have an SE Gen 2 and the trouble phone is a 17 Pro (I think; 17 something). We have looked at settings on each phone; nothing. Both my phone and the trouble phone have been updated recently. Any clues? Thank you. john

Are you and your spouse sharing the same Apple Account (formerly known as Apple ID)?

If you and your wife are sharing an Apple ID (account), that would definitely cause all sorts of problems.
Each person should have their own Apple Account. They are easy to create and use:

Hi John, let’s find out about the Apple Account situation and we can move forward towards a solution once we know if you each have your own account or if you’re sharing an account.
If I am understanding you correctly, when you use the SE Gen 2 to call the iPhone 17 Pro, the call goes to voicemail. But anyone calling from a different phone (and phone number) is able to reach that iPhone 17. Are both phones set up to the same phone number? Same account? Are you trying to call your number from the same number but on a different phone? If so, that would explain the problem.
If I am not understanding correctly, please try explaining again.
There is only one problem number I call (my wife, and we DO get along well!) that goes right to voice. It is just a standard person A calls person B. Other people call her just fine. I have called dozens of other numbers in the last few months and I used to call my wife as well, with no issues. Also, I can call her from our landline just fine. The problem just started a few weeks ago. At about the same time my SE started doing something weird; callers can barely hear me until I put my SE on speaker. That issue is inconsistent and perhaps irrelevant. Pls ask for any other info you think may help.

I know so little about all this that I will have to ask: How would having a shared Apple account suddenly make my phone go wonky? We have the same phone service provider (and TV service.)
