iPhone 13 Pro stuck in Lost Mode after being found

I lost the phone, 13 pro, put it in lost mode. I have a iphone Xr and had the phone company put the phone number on it. In the meantime the 13 pro was found and returned. It is not letting me unlock it. I put the password in and it says needs face ID, I hit the tab and the face square comes up then it goes right back to lost phone, please call page. On find devices I have Clicked on the stop lost mode and below that it states that it will stop when the phone is connected to the internet. I am not able to open the phone to connect to the internet. how do I stop or bypass the lost mode?
