Many modern apps are not compatible, limiting the usability of your device.

Your available options:

• Your iPhone XR is eligible for a trade-in, worth up to $80 if it’s in good condition.
• If your iPhone XR is damaged, then the only option is to recycle it for free. ♻️

If you are asking about updating your iPhone XR now running iOS 18, you cannot update to iOS 26 because your iPhone XR does not have the processing power to run iOS 26.

If you want to run iOS 26, you will need a new iPhone.

For the iPhone XR, which ran iOS 12 when Apple introduced it in October 2018, iOS 18 is the end of the line. If you are running the latest version of iOS 18 (currently iOS 18.7.9), your iPhone XR will tell you that it is up to date.
