Restore emails from time Machine

How do i recover inbox emails from my time machine for one of 4 email accounts? After deleting (40k+) archived emails from 4 different archived email accounts, I am missing some emails from one accounts inbox. They are nowhere to be found. This is a Telus email account managed by Google.

Mails are stored in ~/Library/Mail/

There will be a folder called V10 or something like that. Your mails are in there.

Now the fun starts because instead of calling the folders in V10 sensible names - like your email addresses - they give them other names from which you can glean no information. When you open them they list the mail boxes in the mail accounts so that might help you. Otherwise, if you've been keeping Time Machine backups, you could just recover them all. If I were you I'd recover them to a new folder somewhere and then open them one by one so you don't fill your mailboxes up again.

Top Tip. I always put a mailbox folder in each mail account with the name of the account so if I ever have to recover mailboxes from the Library it's less of a treasure hunt.
