My Mac won't connect to my phones apple account. What do I do?

My new MacBook Neo (macOS Tahoe Version 26.5.1) won't connect to the same apple account as my phone (iPhone 17 pro max Version 26.5.1) and iPad. It says it does but the picture is different and I don't have any files or pictures from my phone in it. Im not really a tech person so I don't really know what to do. Since the Neo is relatively new, there are no Youtube videos on how to fix this. Please help.

If you want to synchronize photos between your iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Neo, you need to

  • Log into the same Apple Account on all devices you want to synchronize, and
  • Turn on iCloud Photos on all devices you want to synchronize

If you have iCloud Photos enabled on, say, your iPhone and iPad; but not on your Mac, photos from your iPhone and iPad will not synchronize to the Mac.
