iPhone 16 Pro: No SMS alerts after 'Delete & Report Junk

Hello Apple Support,

I’m experiencing an issue with the Messages app on my iPhone 16 Pro after accidentally using “Delete & Report Junk” on several SMS verification senders .

I was able to restore the deleted messages, and the SMS messages are now delivered normally. However, since then:

I receive the SMS messages successfully.

The messages appear in the Messages app.

I do not receive any notification, banner, sound, lock screen alert, or badge for those specific senders.

Other SMS messages and app notifications work normally.

The issue only affects the senders that I previously reported as spam.

To troubleshoot, I have already:

Updated to the latest version of iOS.

Performed a force restart.

Reset all settings.

Disabled Unknown Sender filtering.

Verified that all Messages notification settings are enabled.

Confirmed there are no third-party SMS filtering apps installed.

The issue still persists.

Could you please advise if this is a known issue or help me restore notifications for those SMS senders?

Check this, first.

Or Use and customize the Action button on iPhone - Apple Support (IN)

Then please check the following.

Notification Preview when Screen is Locked, Notification Alerts, Notification OFF, and much more...

  1. To get Notifications when the Screen is locked see the pic below which is self-explanatory
  2. To turn ON notifications selectively for apps, go to Settings > Notifications > Scroll Down to the App and turn ON notifications... Change notification settings on iPhone - Apple Support (IN)
  3. Some apps have their own notification settings over and above the iOS notification settings: An example of Instagram Notification settings is given below
  4. Help for Notification Alerts --> No Notification Alerts - Apple Community
  5. For VIP email Alerts refer to the pic below
  6. The pic below is self-explanatory

Using "Delete & Report Junk" does not block the sender, silence notifications, or prevent future SMS or iMessages from being delivered. It deletes the selected conversation from your device and sends information about the message and sender to Apple to help improve spam detection. If the same sender contacts you again, a new conversation can appear and you'll receive notifications according to your normal notification settings. To stop messages from that sender, you need to block the contact (for iMessage and SMS, where supported by your carrier) or use features such as Focus or Do Not Disturb to manage notifications.
