Hi,
To resolve the stuck "Verifying OneDrive" popup, you need to force quit the verification process, clear the corrupted cache in the system Keychain, and bypass Gatekeeper so macOS trusts the app.
Step 1: Force Quit the Verification Process
The verification window is controlled by a background process called CoreServicesUIAgent.
- Press Command + Spacebar to open Spotlight, type Activity Monitor, and press Return.
- In the search bar at the top-right corner of the Activity Monitor, type CoreServicesUIAgent.
- Click the process to highlight it, and then click the X icon (Force Quit) in the top-left toolbar.
- Confirm by clicking Force Quit.
Step 2: Clear OneDrive in Keychain Access
Corrupted login tokens often cause the verification loop.
- Press Command + Spacebar and type Keychain Access to open the utility.
- In the Search bar at the top right, type OneDrive.
- Right-click (or hold Control and click) any entries that say com.microsoft.OneDrive... and select Delete.
Step 3: Re-verify OneDrive Manually
If Gatekeeper gets stuck verifying OneDrive automatically, bypassing the automated check usually fixes it.
- Open Finder and go to your Applications folder.
- Hold down the Control key and click the OneDrive icon.
- Select Open from the context menu.
- A new dialog box will appear. Click the Open button to verify and launch the app securely.
Step 4: Reinstall the App
If the issue persists, the OneDrive installation might be damaged.
- Drag the OneDrive app from your Applications folder to the Trash.
- Download and reinstall the latest standalone app directly from the Microsoft OneDrive Download Page.
