MacBook Air M1 & iPhone Continuity features not working
Hi everyone,
I’m having a very unusual Continuity issue between my MacBook Air M1 and my iPhone.
Devices
- MacBook Air M1
- macOS 26.5.2
- iPhone
- iOS 26.5.2
Both devices are signed in with the same Apple ID, and Two-Factor Authentication is enabled.
Problems
- iPhone Mirroring gets stuck on “Pairing in progress” and never completes.
- AirDrop does not work between my Mac and iPhone.
- Universal Clipboard only works in one direction:
- ✅ iPhone → Mac (Copy on iPhone, Paste on Mac works)
- ❌ Mac → iPhone (Copy on Mac, Paste on iPhone does not work)
Things I’ve already tried
- Restarted both devices multiple times.
- Signed out and back into Apple ID.
- Confirmed both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled.
- Handoff is enabled on both devices.
- Firewall tested both ON and OFF.
- Reset Network Settings on iPhone.
- Created a new administrator user account on the Mac.
- Reinstalled macOS from Recovery (without erasing the Mac).
- Both devices are updated to the latest available version (26.5.2).
Unfortunately, the problem remains exactly the same.
Has anyone experienced this issue before?
Could this be a Continuity service issue, a pairing database problem, or an Apple ID/Continuity registration issue?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
