Alphabetize column in Pages; need WordService app?
Alphabetize a column of words on Pages. Do I need the app WordService to do that, and if so, where do I get that app for Mac? Thank you.

Niels approach is simpler but does require using a table. Pages does not have a built-in ability to sort plain text columns outside of a table. Otherwise…
WordService (free) is in the Mac App Store. While it is installing it is depositing its services but not enabling them. You would have to visit System Settings > Keyboard > [ Keyboard Shortcuts… ] > Services > Text, and then scroll down until you see WordService: Sort Lines Ascending and enable it. Observe its preset keyboard shortcut.
Next, ensure that you have a list of text words in a column, each entry ending with a return, and then select that column of words. Pressing shift+cmd+A should instantaneously sort that column in place. Press cmd+Z to undo that. If that keyboard shortcut does not work the first time you try it, then initially use Pages menu > Services > WordService: Sort Lines Ascending menu item, and then the associated shortcut should work thereafter.
