MacBook Air Activation Lock removal with proof of purchase

This is a user-to-user technical support community. You are not addressing Apple, and no one here has the access or ability to do what you request. It isn’t clear Apple would be able to assist since this doesn’t appear to be an authorized seller, and lock introduces the possibility of theft at one point. You probably need to contact seller.

to remove an activation lock, you need to be able to prove chain of ownership all the way back to the original owner. the fact that you bought it from a reseller may complicate the process.

as Kilgore-Trout has stated, you are not addressing apple here. you can Contact Apple for support and service to inquire if your documents are sufficient.

if apple cannot assist, I would inquire about a refund from the seller.

To get Apple to consider an Activation Lock support request, I believe that you need the original proof of purchase, and that it must be from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller. A second-hand sales receipt from an auction won't be acceptable.

Furthermore, the online request form says that the device must not be in Lost Mode. If it's in that mode, Apple will not remove the lock even if you have an otherwise-acceptable original sales receipt.

Sorry., that machine is useless to you.

Only the owner of the account used to lock the device can remove the activation lock.
